The route to Machu Picchu by Hydroelectric, a good option for young adventurers
The most economical route to Machu Picchu is the 5-hour bus ride to the hydroelectric station in the jungle of Cusco. Then it continues with an incredible hike preferred by young adventurers. This route is 10 kilometers long and can be covered in two hours on flat roads surrounded by beautiful landscapes. The goal is the town of Aguas Calientes where the visitor must spend the night to visit Machu Picchu the next day. This route avoids the train ride from Ollantaytambo. The bus ticket to Hydroelectric costs only 15 dollars approximately (30 dollars one way and return). This route should be avoided during heavy rains (January, February, and March) due to mud and rock fall.

The adventure of knowing Machu Picchu

Machu Picchu is an adventure suitable for people of all ages, especially for young people and teenagers. Every year, statistics indicate that people between 21 and 30 years old are the ones who arrive at the Inca citadel.

Inside the Inca citadel, you can do different adventures, such as climbing Huayna Picchu mountain, Machupicchu mountain, Huchuy Picchu mountain, or the route to the Inca Bridge. In addition, there are long trekking routes to reach the Inca llaqta, such as the Inca Trail 4 days, the Salkantay Trek 5 days, the Inca Jungle 4 days, the Lares Trek 4 days, and more.

The landscapes surrounding Machu Picchu are simply spectacular. The Inca city is located in the Amazonian jungle, an area of beautiful vegetation and wildlife where the following stand out: the spectacled bear, llamas, the Andean deer, the Andean wolf, the torrent duck, the cock of the rock, and more.

In addition, the city of Cusco (capital of the Inca empire), the base point from where most tours to Machu Picchu depart, is a cosmopolitan point with many tourist services of good quality and lots of fun, such as bars, discos, cafes, restaurants, and hostels. Young people find Cusco as a special place where they can make the best memories.

For all this, year after year, Machu Picchu occupies the first place among the best tourist destinations in the world. Not only for its history, and the quality of its tourist services but also for the adventure and great experience that one can take away from the trip. Young people and teenagers are the most nostalgic for Cusco and Machu Picchu. Many of them even return years later.
