The train services most used by tourists are The Voyager and The 360. Both allow for a pleasant trip, surrounded by beautiful scenery. There are two stations from where Inca Rail services depart: from the city of Cusco (Bimodal bus + train service) and from Ollantaytambo station (train only). Inca Rail train travel discounts

Inca Rail offers special discounts for children and infants. Children under 12 years old have a special fare. Infants under 3 years old can travel for free as long as they travel on their parent's lap (only one child per parent).

Free ticket for children under 3 years old

Children from zero to two years old can travel for free if they travel on their parent's lap or arm (only one child). The promotion is not valid for children three years of age and older.

Discounted ticket for children under 12 years old

Children from three years old to twelve years old have access to a special rate on any Inca Rail train. The promotion is not valid for children over twelve years old.

Bimodal Service (Bus + Train)

The Bimodal service offers two trips: one by tourist bus and one by train. All buses depart from the city of Cusco (El Sol Avenue station). The bus trip takes almost 2 hours. The train trip takes 1 hour 45 minutes. The benefits are: comfortable seats, large windows, service on board and security. The prices offer discounts and different schedules.

There are two routes to make the trip to Machu Picchu with Inca Rail: the route that starts in the city of Cusco and the route that starts in the town of Ollantaytambo (Sacred Valley of the Incas). Both services are comfortable, spacious and safe. Choose the one that suits you best.

1Cusco - Machupicchu Route

  • The city of Cusco is approximately 100 kilometers from Machu Picchu. There begins the route boarding the tourist bus (Bimodal service) that will take the visitor to the train station of Ollantaytambo in a tourist trip full of beautiful landscapes. The trip is 61 kilometers long and takes almost 2 hours.
  • In Ollantaytambo the tourist will get off the bus and will have a free time of approximately 30 minutes. Then passengers will board the tourist train that will take them to Machupicchu town (Aguas Calientes). The trip is 40 kilometers long and takes approximately 1 hour and 45 minutes.
  • Once in the town of Aguas Calientes, tourists board a bus that after a 10 kilometer trip takes them to the entrance gate of Machu Picchu.
  • The return trip (from Machupicchu to Cusco) follows the same route but in the opposite direction.

2 Ollantaytambo - Machupicchu Route

  • The town of Ollantaytambo is located in the Sacred Valley of the Incas, approximately 45 kilometers from Machupicchu. From the Ollantaytambo train station most train services depart daily. This station, the most important in Cusco, allows daily departures of the three Inca Rail services: The Voyager, The 360 and The First Class.
  • The train trip from Ollantaytambo ends at Aguas Calientes station (Machupicchu village). The route lasts approximately 1 hour 45 minutes. On the route you can appreciate beautiful landscapes of the Vilcanota River and the high mountains that surround it.
  • Once in Aguas Calientes, tourists board a bus that after a 10 kilometer trip takes them to the entrance gate of Machu Picchu.
  • The return trip (from Machupicchu to Ollantaytambo) follows the same route but in the opposite section. In Ollantaytambo the visitor must take a cab or public transportation to the city of Cusco.
